Attributes of wire guide nozzles

 Nozzles

Bharat Industries manufactured Wire Guide Nozzles have following attributes making them best in market.
  1. High Wear Resistance: Tungsten Carbide possesses a very high Hardness value in excess of Vickers 1500, approximately 1.7 times more than that of hardened carbon steel making it perfect material for Nozzles.
  2. Surface-Roughness: These Nozzles are surface finished to a roughness of 0.05-1 microns or 2-4 micro inches Ra, which assures least friction-resistance, reduces film damage during wire-insulation as well as provides stable wire tension.
  3. Concentricity & Stiffness: These nozzles permit wire to exit concentric to the nozzle within 0.01 mm with or even without load.
  4. Accurate Exit Radii: The exit radii of the nozzles determine the angle of wire exit from one coil to the next. This makes it essential to maintain the exit radii to utmost tolerance limit, which is done using the right calibrating instruments.

Cable Cutters

Cable Cutters are used mainly in cutting insulated copper and aluminium cable of various diameters. Jaws of Cable cutters make it possible to cut through the cable without causing any major distortion to the internal wires. Read more on further on http://www.wiredrawingdies.co.in/product/cutters/.

Wire cutters

 Wire Cutters

Wire Cutters are used specifically for purpose of cutting wire. These also known as snips or diagonal Pliers, as are very similar to pliers.
The most noteworthy difference between wire cutters and Pliers is that instead of grips as in Pliers, these have sharpened edges, which assists in cutting through wire. Read more on further on http://www.wiredrawingdies.co.in/product/cutters/

Hydrostatic Extrusion

Hydrostatic Extrusion

In the blogs on extrusion and its types- Direct extrusion & Indirect Extrusion, it was noted that the major drawback with direct extrusion is the frictional forces acting on the billet. Accordingly, one can either try backward extrusion or can move ahead with hydrostatic extrusion.  Hydrostatic extrusion is basically type of direct extrusion, wherein the billet is confined in sealed chamber surrounded by pressurized fluid. The force delivered by the ram pressurizes this fluid, which further applies to the surfaces of billet. As the ram moves forward, it in effect applies force on the fluid, which causes displacement of billet through die, extruding the metal part.

Backward Extrusion

Backward extrusion

In the blog on Direct Extrusion, we had pointed the main disadvantage of direct extrusion being the excess use of force due to friction between the cylinder and billet. Accordingly, to deal with this issue, whenever possible one can use indirect or backward extrusion, wherein comparative lesser force is required for extruding the material.
Indirect or backward extrusion is a type of metal extrusion process wherein the billet(work-piece) is kept inside the chamber, which is completely closed on one side. In this type of extrusion, the billet and the container move simultaneously whereas the die remains stationery. Extrusion dies are placed on the ram, which applies the force from the open end of the chamber. These dies are held tightly in position by the “stem” which is longer then the length of the container. The column length of this stem decided the ultimate length of the extruded metal.

Forward Extrusion

Forward Extrusion

Extrusion Process are mainly of three types- Direct or Forward Extrusion, Indirect or Backward Extrusion Hydrostatic Extrusion. This blog would speak on Forward or Direct Extrusion.
Direct Extrusion, also known as forward extrusion or in-line compounding, is used greatly in production of semi-finished products including films, plates, profiles and even tubes in one process step. The intermediate steps of pelletizing are not needed in forward extrusion, thereby being very economical. It requires very little investment and has considerably low operating costs and energy requirements for extrusion. Till date, certain products can only be manufactured by in-line compounding owing to the single-stage direct extrusion needed. In direct extrusion, final product quality is the most important decisive factor in the complex production process.

Extrusion Process

Extrusion Process

Extrusion is process used mostly to create a fixed, cross-sectional profile objects. It involves impounding the metal in a packed cavity and allowing it to later flow through the other opening. Consequently, the metal takes profile of the opening. The whole maneuver can be seen as identical to routine squeezing of toothpaste out of the toothpaste tube.  The extrusion process can be either continuous, hypothetically producing indefinitely long material or can be semi-continuous making many products.

Wire Drawing

Wire Drawing

The usage of drawn wire is far beyond from everyday products like electrical wire & TV cables as well as paper clips and staples. It is used greatly in making springs of all kinds used in garage doors and other high tensile applications as well for making re-bar used in construction world-wide. Even spokes on wheels, metal handles & wire brushes are all manufactured from wire. Literally speaking, the usage of wire is beyond man-count and to satisfy this insatiable need millions of miles of wire is continuously drawn by wire-mills annually.

Tungsten Carbide

 Bharat Industries

In the domain of stunning-infrastructure and sophisticated-machinery, Cemented Tungsten Carbide has emerged as the foremost choice for tools, dies and other wear parts. Once the optimum characteristics desired for the intended application are specified by the toolmaker or engineer, Tungsten Carbide can provide exceptional performance. Cemented Tungsten Carbide consists of Tungsten Carbide particles which are adhered or cemented collectively by a comparatively ductile, uncontaminated metal cobalt or nickel. Here, the Tungsten Carbide acts as “bricks” whereas the binder material as “mortar”.

Selection of Right Die material

 Bharat Industries

The successful selection of appropriate raw material for using in die tools depends predominantly on the kind and size of wire being drawn. Even, the tonnage desired by the wire-drawer per die plays a vital role. Largely, a wire-drawer has to select between two raw-materials available for making die-tools, Tungsten Carbide & Polycrystalline Diamond(PCD). Generally, it has been accepted that for drawing smaller size wires harder die material is needed.
